VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
The Fort Garry Women’s Resource Centre (FGWRC) is a dynamic and exciting organization committed to creating a community where women and their children are safe, healthy, valued and empowered. We operate as a collective within a feminist philosophy utilizing consensus decision making.
FGWRC is currently recruiting women interested in the following volunteer roles:
Female lawyers and Female Articling students
We have received a grant from the Manitoba Law Foundation to coordinate 32 legal workshops for women on basic information, resources and education. The workshops will be focused on community women and/or service providers.

Board of Directors Volunteers:
The FGWRC Board of Directors is responsible for making major decisions regarding the operations of the Centre and each Board member – in addition to sitting on the Board – also works on one of the Centre’s working committees. We are looking for women who are interested in serving on our Board and who possess skills in any of the following areas: human resources, policy development, finance, accounting, fund development, community relations, media relations, sales and event planning.

MEMBERSHIP!
Why be a member of Fort Garry Women's Resource Centre???
You don't need to be member to use FGWRC services, but membership does have its benefits including: keeping you up to date on coming events, giving you an opportunity to be directly involved in the direction of the Centre, and helping you demonstrate your support for the Centre
Active
Membership is $20.00 per year
(income adjustable)
An active member
is a female adult who supports the Centre’s objectives and policy
and who pays the required annual membership fee. This person is then
entitled to make motions, nominations, vote, hold office, receive information
regarding the Centre and take books out of our library.
Associate
Membership is $15.00 per year
(income adjustable)
An associate member is a woman, man, young person under 18 years of
age, or organization who supports the Centre’s objective and policy
and who pays the associate membership fee. This person is then entitled
to receive information regarding the Centre
An official tax receipt will be issued for all charitable donations. Please call the Centre at 477-1123 for more information.
