The FGWRC Outreach Program operates out of an apartment located within a Manitoba Public Housing building. The programs include various drop-in times, individual and group counseling, clothing exchanges, and workshops.

These programs are for women only and are free of charge. We provide a child care area for children of mothers attending sessions which includes craft activities, nutritional snack and a safe environment. Women who have attended the Outreach Centre's programs have provided us with great feedback!

Yoga Classes - Tuesday mornings from 9:30-10:30 for 8 weeks starting March 2, 2010.

Triple P ( Positive Parenting Program) - Monday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am for 8 weeks starting April 12, 2010. A positive parenting program for mothers with children 12 and under. The aim is to promote children’s development and manage children’s behaviour. It is based on good communication and positive attention to help children develop. As assessment is required before admittance into the group.

On-Going Programs

Women & Midlife

A group for women 45 years and older exploring all the changes / experiences women face during their middle years of age. First Mondays of the month from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.

Please join us for coffee and facilitated discussion on the second Tuesday of the month from 6-7:30 pm (childminding available up to age 11)

At this time we are not accepting clothing donations. Thank you for your generosity. If you are looking for somewhere to donate your clothing please try calling Helping Hands 582-4334 or Oyate Tipi Cumini Yapi (donation line) 589-2265.

Harvest program will continue to run on the last Wednesday of the month from 12-2:30 pm. Participants must be registered. For more information or to be included on the wait list - contact Shileen at 477-1123.

One time and crisis counselling available. Contact Kim or Chris for more information.

This program offers children who have witnessed and/or experienced domestic violence individual counseling in Art, Play, -or Music Therapy for children ages 2-12 year. Call Erin at 477-1123 for more information.
